Completed

So here are some pictures of some of the things from my list over there that I've actually finished:

A Purse!  It is actually functional, except I used velcro as a closure which fell off after a few days.  So it stays open but nothing comes out because the opening is kinda too small.

Here's the pillowcase that is now a dress for Molly.  It will be her Easter dress.  The sleeves are made from the ruffle on an old sheet.  It looks super cute on her.

Allyson's owl.  She likes it.  I don't. Whoooo cares.... get it?  An owl says whooo!

I had to spend some of my time away from my list making 19 Monkey ears and tails for Allyson's school circus.  Her class is going to be dancing monkeys.  Hope they fit all the little monkeys!

My New To Do List

...An Itemized Explanation

1. I used to cross stitch a lot and I started some vegetable that were kinda cute (if you think anything cross stitch is cute). I never finished two of them so I'm gonna do that and give them to someone who appreciates that sort of thing.

 

2. This is the stuffed owl I started for Allyson when she begged me to make her one... she picked out the material. 

3. These are going to be bookends.  They are made from a sweater formerly owned by my friend Emily.  I just need to put something heavy in their butts to make them functional bookends.

4.5.6.7.  Two shirts, a pillowcase, and a maternity skirt that will become clothes for my children. The white shirt has a really pretty pattern on it so that's why I'm keeping it.  The blue one is just kinda nice (not sure how that one's going to work).  The pillowcase has really pretty embroidery on it (I think it's from one of our grandmothers).  The black skirt has pretty lace on the bottom so that's why I'm using it.

8.  This is a fabric sample that matches Janae's bedding.  She will eventually get a pillow out of it.

9. 10. 11.  These are more owl shapes from sweaters destined to be stuffed and /or bookends and sold on etsy.

12.  Here are a few blocks made from random scraps... I have more blocks and a billion more scraps that will eventually form themselves into a kick ass quilt.

13.  This is Link from the Zelda video game.  I made him a long time ago for Scott thinking he would be a wall hanging or pillow for the basement.  Scott asked me to make a cover for the pool table.  It got folded up and put away for three years... his time will come.

14.  Christmas fabric (I think from my aunt's deceased mother-in-law)  that will become ornaments to be given as Christmas gifts to teachers and whatnot.

15. 16. 17.  Three purse handles (again from the deceased mother-in-law).  I have them so I might as well use them, right?  Beneath them is a maternity skirt that I really like so it might make it's way into becoming a purse.  Not sure if these will be for me or to be sold on etsy.

18.  Quilt I'm making from Nola's baby clothes.  I'm really close to finishing!  See Janae's blog to learn more.  It's going to be awsome.

I have a system of working on these in order of importance and ease of finishing (it probably only makes sense in my head) so hopefully the list will shrink quickly... till I add more to it.

Spring?

I went on a walk today... outside... for more than 30 minutes!  And now I'm wearing flip flops.  I know it probably wont last long, but I'm totally enjoying this weather. 
My plan is to walk outside with Molly at least 15 minutes a day (or maybe 30 minutes every other day).  About two months ago I put in my daily schedule to "work out" 15 minutes a day.  I think I worked out a total of 45 minutes in the past two months.  I don't think the treadmill and I get along that well and the girls won't let me do the exercise shows I recorded.  SO... if the weather works out for me I think walking outside is a good plan (Molly likes looking up at the BIG TREES from her stroller).
Who knows what will happen when it gets too hot, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

A few things I've done lately

Stuffed Owl I made today... if you like it, go to my Etsy Store and buy it.

I made these curtains for my kitchen... They look kind of old fashioned; that's what I'm going for.  They are actually made out of pillow ticking but I though the pattern was pretty.

Here's Allyson's Easter dress.  Janae and I took her and Nola to the fabric store and let them pick out their own material for their dresses.  I made Nola's too, but didn't take any pictures.  Maybe Janae will post some on her blog soon (hint hint).

(The pants are not meant to be to be worn with the dress but there's only so much a 5 year old will do for you)

Too Busy to Blog Because...

BLANKETS!

Here are a few I've done recently:

This one I originally did for a friend who's having a baby boy but decided to gift it to Scott's co-worker who wasn't finding out if she was having a boy or girl.

This one I will be giving to my friend having the boy.  The picture was in it's early stages and it ended up with more of a random pattern.  It's way cuter in person.

This picture was also in the early stages of the quilt (aka not sewn together).  I made this blaket for my niece Sarah for Christmas.  

I took this picture of Allyson yesterday, but that quilt behind her and her peanut butter is the first quilt I ever made.  It was way too complicated for a beginer and now I think it's kinda ugly but I made it over 10 years ago and it still exists!  Maybe that means I make quality stuff.
