Today's Adventure

So, I changed the title of my blog.  It's all about the kids now and the crazy stuff they put me through.
Today's adventure was brought to me by Molly.   For those of you who don't know, Molly loves coffee.
At about 2:30 (when she should have been napping) she moved a chair over to the counter where my coffe pot sits.  She pulled the half-full coffee pot out of the coffee maker and poured it all over the counter, herself, and the floor.  Don't worry, it was cold coffee.
She then proceeded to get down on the floor on her belly and slurp up the coffee.  I don't know anyone else under the age of 15 who likes coffee.  My baby's a freak!  I really wish I had gotten a picture of this, but I didn't. 

I did get a picture of this, though.

This happens about 2 times a week.  It keeps Molly busy for 10-30 minutes so I'm cool with it.

Today

So, as a follow up to my last blog, here's an update:
Papers: organized and mostly read. Checkbook: balanced (a few times). "To Go" kit: made (in a cute little bag). BG Levels: Logged (in a cute little notebook). "Diabetes Cabinet" : Filled with EVERYTHING Molly needs, not organized. Got popsicle makers today. Molly still only likes to eat and Allyson still wants constant attention... Oh well.

Thank goodness for the upcoming good weather. Everything is better when you can go outside in the yard or on a walk or to the park.

We are going to be celebrating Passover tomorrow and Easter on Sunday. I'm a little worried about the timing and the carb counting for Molly. But I'm totally excited for the Matzo Ball soup. I love it!

Well, Allyson is bugging me to get off the computer so I will.

Things I need to do now that Molly has Diabetes

I have a lot to do. This is more for my benefit than anyone elses...

• organize the billions of papers and pamphlets from the hospital
• balance my check book
• make a to go kit
• figure out a good way to log Molly's blood glucose levels
• Organize our new Diabetes cabinet
• find good snacks and put them in 15 carb baggies
• buy a popsicle maker (to use with Crystal light because that would be a good free snack)
• read the billions of papers from the hospital
• figure out prescriptions and insurance stuff
• find out what Molly likes to do besides eat snacks
• Don't forget about Allyson

From Blanket to Box

So, for Christmas Scott and I both got magazine subscriptions, meaning we'd have a lot of magazines lying around the house. If I didn't find a good spot for them I knew I'd just end up throwing them away and I don't really like that idea. So I went searching for a magazine rack or basket or something and found nothing (at Target because that's the only place I go).
I also have the problem of having too many blankets lying around the house. This one has two matching throw pillows (that I use in the living room) and I really like it, but the batting got all bunchy and clumpy in the washer/dryer, so it was kinda ruined....Two problems = one solution: FABRIC BOX!
I didn't measure my pieces very well, so it's not perfect; maybe a little more floppy than it should be, but I like it. ...and perfect for Magazines!
I totally want to make more. Now, what else can I find around my house to put into a fabric box???

I'M BACK!!!

Facebook took over my life for a while, and I wasn't sure if bloging here was worth it, but I've decided it is...who knows how long this will last or how often I will blog, but for now the two people that read this can be happy.

So, what's going on...

I'm home sick with two sick kids; totally not fun. Last night Allyson had a temp of 102.2, but she's totally fine now and will probably go to school tomorrow. All I really want is a nap, but that's not going to happen.

After refinancing our house we only have one little credit card to pay off and then we will be debt free (except for student loans and the house). With the money we get back from taxes we will pay off that card, so that's nice. Although I have a feeling we will just build it right back up pretty soon because I need new contacts and I need to get some dental work that the denstist said might be about $1000 or more, so that's a bummer. Whatever.

I've been totally obsessed with the Olympics and learned that I don't care at all about hockey. I could also do without the bobsled. I am about a day behind (I'm recording it all) but I just delete all hockey games and fast forward through some of the stuff where I just care about the scores. I totally don't get the biathalon...what's the point of sking and then shooting a gun? It's dumb.

El Dio de la Fence

Yesterday we bean the process of putting in our fence. This process started with Scott waking up at 5:15 (God knows why) to make sure he was at Home Depot at 6:00 to rent the big machine in the picture below. He and his brother started drilling holes in the yard at about 6:15...sorry neighbors! it sounded like a lawn mower, but that still sucks when you're sleeping.

Allyson decided to help. She picked up the extra dirt and moved it to random spots in the yard.

We started using her as a measuring stick. If you could see more than her head, then the hole wasn't deep enough.

The next step was mixing the concrete to pour in the holes. Notice Nola in the picture below. I think she's sad because she couldn't put her big gloved hands in the concrete.

Then they put up the fence posts and that's where it stoped. Apparantly you have to let the concrete set up for a day or two. So now I just have fence posts in my yard (no picture yet). Hopefully by the end of this week we will have a completed fence... our gates are on order so those might have to wait till next week.

Whole lotta nothin'

Well, it's been ages since I wrote on here and frankly I think it's because Molly chewed on the cord that connects my camera to the computer so it's a lot harder to transfer my pictures. Scott just went to Lowes today and got all then fence pieces for our fence that we will be putting in this weekend! So excited! Except that they no longer sell the gates that go with the fence we got, so either we will have straight gates with our scallped fence or we will have scalloped gates that don't exactly match our fence...either way, who cares, New fence!
